Moses Jeannot turned himself in to Norwalk Police on Tuesday, March 21 for the incident which took place on Monday, Feb. 20 on Dry Hill Road.
According to Norwalk Police Sgt. Sofia Gulino, on Feb. 20, Norwalk Police received a 911 call of an individual having been shot inside a residence on Dry Hill Road, resulting in a rapid and large response of police officers to the location.
Officers quickly located Jeannot, who had sustained serious injuries from a gunshot wound, as well as a handgun, Gulino said.
Jeannot was stabilized and rushed to Norwalk Hospital, and the handgun was secured. Detectives assumed the investigation.
The investigation resulted in the finding that Jeannot was in possession of the handgun, and had shot himself, Gulino said.
Jeannot, a convicted felon, was not permitted to possess any firearms and was in violation of a protective order, she added.
Following his arrest, he was charged with:
- Reckless endangerment
- Illegal discharge of a firearm
- Criminal possession of a firearm
- Violation of a protective order
Jeannot is being held on a $7,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, March 22.
